Portage County Literacy Council Announces New Executive Director

Sarah Halstead is Portage County Literacy Council's new Executive Director. Sarah has been a teacher at the PCLC for four years and a tutor for five years. She has an extensive background in running non-profit organizations. Sarah has been involved in managing family support programs since 1995, most recently serving as Executive Director for Family Connections of Portage County. She is also currently regional coordinator for the Wisconsin Non-Profits Association. Sarah knows how to interact with and manage clients and volunteers, is skilled in grant writing and budget management, and she is already conversant with PCLC’s procedures. She is well positioned to take PCLC’s reins.

"I am very excited to be working in this new capacity for the Portage County Literacy Council!” said Sarah. “It's a truly great organization and one that makes a real difference in people's lives. I look forward to working together with all the PCLC staff, board, volunteers and community partners in the years ahead."
