Jeff Burkhart has been named Executive Director of the Literacy Network, a non-profit organization providing literacy services to Dane County adults. In his new role, he will guide the organization’s direction and vision, head fund-raising efforts and oversee program activities. “I am excited to begin working with Literacy Network staff and volunteer tutors, who are incredibly hard-working and dedicated to serving the needs of adult learners in our area,” said Burkhart.
A former outreach coordinator for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Burkhart has been involved in program development and instruction of adult learners since 1995. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University and a master’s degree in adult education from UW-Madison.
Literacy Network is a member of Wisconsin Literacy, with more than 300 volunteers assisting approximately 1,000 learners each year to make a positive impact on their lives. You can find more about this literacy provider at
