Plans are being made at Wisconsin Literacy for this fall’s 6th Annual 1200 Tutors in 12 Weeks campaign. The campaign’s purpose is to raise awareness of adult literacy in Wisconsin and to partner with member agencies on recruitment, training and support for new volunteer tutors. Last year, member agencies recruited and trained 960 tutors and funds were distributed by Wisconsin Literacy based on that number through a grant from Verizon.
The tutor recruitment and training campaign begins on International Literacy Day, Monday, September 8 and ends on Monday, December 1. Visit the Events Section of our website for details on International Literacy Day events at Wisconsin Literacy member agencies throughout the state.
